Monsters are Coming!

Howdy folks! Remember my cute Monster art? Well the client wants to take it to the next stage for his mobile game:
Here is an example of the screen image for this monster game. Starts off being cute (left) then turns monstrous (right). There will be a total of eight monsters. The game is to compete with other monsters and to terrify them first so roars and screams are being looked at right now.

Here below are the eight monsters:

Monster Walk Cycle (Flash)

Just animated a monster walk cycle. Each part of the body, arms, legs and feet are all individual drawn parts, though the legs are the same just one size smaller than the other.

The monster looks silly and stupid lol. The tongue is hand animated. This is a nice exercise at animating a character with the use of puppet animation using Adobe Flash

Flash: troll walk cycle

Attempting to do a walk cycle using Adobe Flash and testing to do a "cut out" style, by simply drawing every bit if arm, head, body and arm of the character. I drew this small little troll for an experiment.

I hence did a combination, all the body parts such as the arms, body and face were to be all converted as "symbols" or "objects" to which the drawings will stay just as they are. The legs I animated myself which makes a nice combination as it is they that move a lot more than the body which just bobs up and down.

Remember this?

Remember this? This is the project I am still working on for Lars Petersen who asks for tests or updates for the monster project. he has now changed the idea instead of everything being pixilated, I just animated it all on toon boom instead.

There will be 10 different monster transformation scenes, each a different monster roaring at the screen to you!

pixel test 1

Here is a test of the Pixel monsters for the "Monster GbR" for Lars Petersen. made all the movements in Photoshop then imported them onto flash. I believe I can do this with toon boom pretty soon.

Pixel Monsters: Ugly Transformation

Here are the ugly transformations of the cute monsters. As explained in the previous post about the "Pixel Monsters" each cute monster will turn into one of these ( each has its own form) and will scare off the other-

p.s. finally got my images posted on this thing. Why must it only work on Google Chrome

Pixel Monsters

Monster Project, Freelance Work
I was looking on the toon boom job site when I saw someone looking for a 2D artist. his name is Lars Petersen. He offered me a job in creating sprite animations using a combination of toon boom and photoshop. From my art style he liked the strange animals based around the world of Shell and Paddy. Bizarre animals led towards a freelance work. I thus will be animating each of these 10 cute animals that will suddenly turn into a hideous monster:
This art work is an old one back in 2010 where i drew a cute fluffy animal suddenly turns into a grotesque monster. This is what my contact has asked me to do, each cute monster will turn into something like this. He wants it for an iPad.
The best part is I can get paid just by animating monsters from my own art style.
This is a test of what my contact wants me to do. Slightly reminds me of the Pokemon battles, except that when cute monster turns into horrible monstrosity, the opposing monster runs away.
